Alpha Taxis Hub

Alpha have changed the way you get home!

The Alpha Taxis Hub is the first purpose-built taxi station in Liverpool. Based on Duke Street opposite Liverpool One and round the corner from Liverpool’s best clubs, bars and restaurants, in a sensitively converted Victorian warehouse, the Hub provides an indoor taxi booking station and waiting area.

It means that passengers can wait for their cab in the warmth and safety of the Hub, and it’s hoped that it will encourage people into the city centre in the evening, knowing they can get home safely, quickly and cheaply. They can even enjoy a coffee whilst they wait.

James Bradley, the owner of Alpha Taxis told the Liverpool Echo,

It is amazing it has taken so long for a major city like Liverpool to have a facility such as this. We take bus and train stations for granted but no thought has been given to a purpose built taxi station, until now. Liverpool has been crying out for such a facility.

James told the Echo that Alpha had responded to the needs of its customers by providing them with a safe environment in which to wait for their cab. He said, I have been working on this scheme for some years in response to requests from passengers, and particularly female customers, who want and deserve a safe and secure environment.

He also said that the location of the Alpha Hub makes it even more appealing to customers.

We are just a matter of yards away from Liverpool One bus station and across the road from Liverpool One, so our taxi station will be ideal for city centre visitors both throughout the day and into the late evening. Since it’s been open, the new taxi station has received praise from many Alpha customers who appreciate the safety aspect of the Hub, particularly when coming home from a night out.

The hub has already proven popular with the city’s students, who have been along to Alpha’s stands at their university Freshers fairs and heard about it from Alpha staff.

Open until 4am on Friday and Saturday, the Hub is also staffed by registered security teams and taxi marshalls, to make sure that all customers who use the service are safe and secure. The launch of this new hub means that it is easier and cheaper to get home. Walk in – taxi out. Simple! You don’t have to stand in the rain anymore and can enjoy coffee, tea or drinks while you wait.

Pay us a visit next time you’re on a night out in Liverpool, or when those shopping bags are too heavy for the bus! Come on in, order your cab and wait inside in the warm. Hopefully this will encourage more people into the city centre, and we’ll see more and more customers coming through the doors of the Hub in the very near future.

Don’t forget that the Hub means cheaper prices, more taxis, and a safer option on the way home.
